Congratulations! You have just grown and birthed a baby (or babies). This is an event at the edge of human performance. You should be so proud of yourself. Your body is incredible. The six weeks following birth, historically, was a protected time where mothers were given the necessary time, space, loving touch, care and attention required, to integrate and heal from birth. Traditionally, a mother focused on sleep, feeding and getting to know her baby.
As a new mum, I know how overwhelming the postpartum period can be. That's why I’ve created this ebook to help you navigate the physical, mental, and emotional recovery following childbirth. As a chartered physiotherapist specializing in trauma and pelvic health, I’ve poured my expertise into this guide to give you the tools you need to heal and thrive. Inside, you'll find everything from physical recovery tips and returning to exercise safely, to essential bladder and bowel information—and so much more. I want you to feel supported and empowered in your postpartum journey, so you can focus on taking care of yourself while adjusting to your new role as a mum.
You are stronger than you know, and this journey of motherhood is not just about surviving—it's about thriving. Take time to nurture yourself, trust in your body’s incredible resilience, and remember that your well-being is a priorty. You’ve got this, and with the right support, you’ll come out of this even stronger than before. Keep going—you’re doing amazing!
About me
I am a Physiotherapist and I felt compelled to create this guide, due to my lived experience of navigating the weeks and months after birth and the difficulties that I faced. I often felt confused and unsupported when facing common physical and mental health issues. I feel that an evidence based guide would help so many mothers facing the same struggles. I hope that you feel heard, seen and supported as you make this transition into motherhood, whether it's your first, or even your fifth time
The ebook contains 30 pages of evidence based information for mothers, and those who care for mothers, and is a guide to support you in navigating a mother’s recovery in the first 40 days following birth and beyond.
